Chronology of cameras Krasnogorsk
The Zenit Automat was introduced at Photokina 1984, without anyone able to touch it. The camera remained inside a glass case during the following Paris show. Finally, it was not marketed until spring 1986.
This unit is a break from its predecessors of the brand. Its design was rather contemporary and its performances approached the standards.
The lens mount is now the K. The exposure mode is automation with aperture priority (not switchable off). The viewfinder has two red LEDs that indicate over or underexposure and flashing alternately when the exposure is correct.
The shutter is of the fabric curtain type , synchronized to 1 / 125th of a second.
This camera was targeting customers who were caring about saving when buying a SLR.
It was sold 850 French francs.
